I’ve been coming to this place for 7 years now. It is absolutely delicious! It may not seem as appealing when you’re walking down the street but I ASSURE YOU IT IS ONE OF THE BEST FALAFEL PLACES IN MEXICO CITY. It is Kosher and certified, since there are food items and ingredients shipped all the way from Israel. There is a second location in Huixilucan.

Tried their chicken Shawarma. It’s a kosher place so if you eat halal only, you can eat here. The shawarma size is way smaller and just like any other restaurant it is expensive as well as won’t fill you unless you order 2 of them. The taste is good though.

After walking from Park Mexico, I arrived at El Rey del Falafel around 8 PM, just in time for the last pieces of shawarma. I was a bit worried it wouldn’t be fresh, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was perfect! As someone who grew up in Israel, I have high standards for shawarma, and this one definitely delivered. I ordered the chicken shawarma in a pita with hummus and eggplant. The pita wasn’t great (it broke as soon as I held it and the hummus wasn’t anything special, but the shawarma itself was packed with flavor (just the right balance of spices). Next time, I’ll come earlier to try it when everything is even fresher, and I’ll check if they have fries to complete the meal. If you’re craving authentic Middle Eastern flavors in Mexico City, El Rey del Falafel is a must-visit!

A hidden gem in condesa! I loved the falafel! Their food is so good I wanna go back! The falafel pita was like 8 bucks! So it’s cheap! Great service as well. The staff was very friendly and they gave me a lot of samples until I was ready to order.

Amazing food! We ordered 2 plates, falafel and shawarma that came with your choice of sides and an order of pita each. We also got olives and I side of grape leaves and an unsweetened Jamaica tea. Everything was so flavorful and delicious! Falafel and shawarma were light, flavorful and not dry at all. The pita had such an amazing texture and flavor. I plan to come back and try more of the menu options.
